I first heard about Davis Langdon through a friend of a friend who already worked here. I wanted to work in Quantity Surveying within a consultancy and he did an excellent job of selling the organisation to me. And when I looked at the website the company, the clients and the projects all looked fantastic, but it was the core values and what they mean to the company that finalised it for me.
The recruitment process was really relevant and not too painful. The application form was interesting and the final few questions appealed to me because it suggested that Davis Langdon was a broad-minded organisation that was prepared to look at things from different avenues. When you complete the application form you’ll know which ones I mean.
As a non-cognate coming into the organisation, the support that Davis Langdon gave me was more about how they could help me be more successful in my studies and get the grades I needed. Study time was made freely available to me, as was access to the partners and other reference resources. In fact when it comes to training and development there is always something going on that will help you to learn. I feel that if I have a training need, then it is there for me.
It was a personal recommendation that started my career here at Davis Langdon, and I have no doubt if placed in a similar situation I would do exactly the same thing.
