I’d studied Construction Management at Liverpool John Moores University, and spent a year working with Davis Langdon as part of my course. And what a year. Without that work experience, I’d never have come out with a first. On graduation I knew exactly what I wanted: to get chartered – and as quickly as possible. And that’s what made heading back to Davis Langdon such an easy decision.

It’s great to work with a company that shares – actually, that positively encourages – my ambition. And I know it’s a terrible cliché, but Davis Langdon is a genuinely dynamic company. They strive to be the best in everything they do, and that includes their Graduate Development Programme.

Here in Liverpool, Davis Langdon’s synonymous with the major development projects, especially with the City being the Capital of Culture 2008. In a bizarre quirk of professional fate, I’ve been working on the new Design Academy for the University. The whole campus is being redone and this will be the flagship building – and I’m helping to make it happen. Now how many grads can say that?
