Please find listed below some frequently asked questions and our answers.
Q. When is the deadline for applications to the GDP?
This year we are asking candidates to register their interest in the Graduate Scheme. We will then notify you once the online application system is live and the deadline for submitting your application. This also applies for our other routes into Davis Langdon. Please click here to access the Register Your Interest Form.
Q. When will I start?
It really depends on your availability and the needs of the office you’re going to work in. Typically, it’s once you’ve graduated during the summer. Mind you, if you’ve already graduated and are able to start sooner, we’ll try and get you on board as soon as we can.
Q. How many Graduates does Davis Langdon recruit each year?
We are currently reviewing the number of graduates required for 2010.
Q. Do I need a construction related degree?
In a word, no. We recruit graduates from all sorts of disciplines, including those not related to the construction industry. Roughly a third of last year’s intake studied unrelated degree subjects, such as geography, economics, maths, finance and architecture. If your degree is unrelated, we’ll enrol you onto a conversion course that will be either a Postgraduate Diploma or Masters degree. You’ll also attend the Graduate Development Programme and, potentially, achieve chartered status in the same time as someone who studied a related degree.
Q. Will I have opportunities to work abroad?
Without a doubt. Davis Langdon & Seah International has 85 offices worldwide, and once you’re chartered we can arrange international secondments to further develop your career and broaden your life experience.
Q. Does Davis Langdon offer sponsorship schemes for students?
Yes, we offer a number of sponsorships each year to individuals intending to complete an undergraduate degree. We accept applications through the Inspire Scholarship Scheme run by Construction Skills. If you’re interested in sponsorship, have a look at www.bconstructive.co.uk

You can work in the UK without a permit if you’re an EU citizen, you’re married to - or in a civil partnership with - an EU citizen, or at least one of your parents was born in Britain. Alternatively, you’ll need to be a Commonwealth citizen with one or more of your grandparents being British. We’ll need to see relevant supporting documentation before you join.
Davis Langdon is legally obliged to take steps to recruit similarly qualified graduates from the EU before we look elsewhere.
