Sounds obvious, doesn’t it? But it’s a top-down commitment here at Davis Langdon. Senior Partners and people at all levels of the firm, including newly-qualified colleagues, are fully involved in the programme. Which means that you’ll have all the information, access and support you need to succeed. And you will succeed. You’ll have access to some of the brightest minds in the business, benefiting from their breadth of experience and depth of expertise. And as we’ve said - and as you’ll see - many of our senior people have got where they are today via graduate training. It’s simple: we want you to be the best you can be. Which is why we’ll support you in every way that we can.
Whatever discipline you chose to work in, whether your degree is construction-related or non-construction related, our Graduate Development Programme will support, challenge and develop you. The five week residential programme is currently held at Aston Business School in Birmingham, one of the UK's leading Business Schools. It consists of a mix of tutor-led training, group work, technical training and personal development workshops that provide you with feedback to help you develop further. And the residential workshops are just one part. As well as attending the programme we will support you in the workplace and ensure that you gain the relevant professional experience.

Whether you have studied a related or unrelated degree we’ll support you to gain membership of a relevant professional body. In most cases, this means becoming a chartered surveyor with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), but we’ll also support you to qualify through the other routes such as the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and Association of Project Management (APM). And of course we will pay for your membership fees to the relevant professional body. If you’re coming from a non-construction related degree, as well as attending the Graduate Development Programme we will support you to complete a conversion course which will be either a Postgraduate Diploma or Masters Degree.
To help you with your studies our library has copies of the textbooks you will need and you are able to borrow these at anytime. You will be allowed time off to attend the relevant lectures and study leave so that you can revise and complete your exams. Many of our graduates have come through this route so there are plenty of people to turn to for guidance and support. And many of our graduates have achieved chartered status in a similar timeframe to those who have joined with a related degree. The entire aim of the programme is to help you gain professional accreditation at the earliest opportunity; to develop the technical, personal and business skills you need to build your career; to share experiences and knowledge with your peers; and, ultimately, to help you become the Partners of the future.
