Selection Centre

The final stage of the process is the selection centre. This is an opportunity for us to meet and spend time with you. It is also an opportunity for you to visit one of our offices and find out more about us by meeting our Partners and current graduates. During the one-day selection centre you will be asked to complete the following exercises:

Group exercise. This will be similar to the type of group exercise you will have completed at university. You will be given a task to complete and a timeframe in which to complete it. During this exercise we want to see how you work as part of a group, what you bring to a group and overall how you deliver on the task set.

Work-based scenario. This exercise will ask you to complete a range of tasks that are similar to what you may be asked to complete as part of your everyday work. This helps us to understand how you approach your work, your quality of work as well as giving you an understanding of what you may expect as a graduate if you join us. Don’t worry if you are applying as a non-cognate – the tasks will be tailored for you.

Interview. You will have an interview with either a Partner or Associate from our business, as well as a member of the Human Resources team.

During the interview you will be asked to provide examples against some of the competencies we are looking for. We will also ask you some questions relating to the industry and your chosen field. Again, don’t worry if you are a non-cognate, at this stage we recognise that you may not have the depth of knowledge so these will be tailored accordingly.

Preparing for the Selection Centre

1. Re-read your application form and reflect on the answers given at your telephone interview. Think about examples against some of the key competency areas. Do some research on the industry and what the current issues are.
2. If you are a cognate review your University studies to help you with the technical questions.
3. Think about what to wear - we want you to dress appropriately for a professional consultancy environment but understand that you are at university.
4. Think of questions you may want to ask - during the day you will have an opportunity to talk to graduates and Partners on what life is like here so think about what you would like to know. Remember that the day is also for you to find out as much as you can about us so that you can make an informed decision too. Above all be yourself!
