Telephone interview

Telephone Interview

At this stage we will be looking to find out more about you and also provide you with an opportunity to share any information that you haven’t felt able to on the application form. The key thing is that we make an informed decision about who you are and what you can offer.

Preparing for the telephone interview

  1. Prepare. Re-read your application form and be prepared to answer questions about your university studies and elaborate on any of your responses on the application form if asked.
  2. Think ahead. Think about what you may be asked - review the competencies we look for and consider examples from your own experience as you are likely to be asked questions relating to these.
  3. Be yourself. We want to find out about you! Don’t try to be someone else or give the responses you think we want to hear as this will not benefit you or us later in the process.
  4. Be ready. Ensure that you are free at the time when the telephone interview is scheduled and ensure that you are in a quiet location where you are able to concentrate and listen effectively to the questions being asked as well as us being able to hear you. After all you want to give it your best shot!
